The Hoggarth family approached us with clear instructions on what they wanted to achieve.
And we were more than happy to set about lovingly transforming their dream into reality.
The brief was to design a freestanding summer house.
Somewhere large enough to incorporate a seating, dining and entertainment area.
But, at the same time, not so big it would breach permitted development rights.
This is what we created:
The summer house sits in a beautiful open garden
surrounded by stunning views. The front and side elevations are fully glazed so the wonderful panorama is fully visible. The rear elevation is solid, adding an element of privacy as well as a place for the kitchenette to stand. Large oak French doors open up on to the patio and the landscaped garden. While the red brick plinth and clay pantile roof covering both blend cleverly in with the nearby properties.
WITH THE ADDITION OF A WOOD-BURNER AND THE CLIENTS' OWN FURNITURE, THIS SUMMER HOUSE CAN BE USED ALL YEAR ROUND. DELIGHTFUL ON A WARM SUMMER DAY – BUT ALSO PERFECT FOR THOSE COSY WINTER NIGHTS.
