We were commissioned to build a three-bay garage in a stunning location just north of York. The house was hidden away and off the beaten track. But a corner of the property, into the tree-lined border, was ideal for this frame.
The design of the garage was to be a traditional cat-slide frame
The garage would be open-aspect internally but all three bays were to have individual entrances. For both practical and aesthetic reasons, the Shuttleworths preferred the option of electrically-operated sectional doors rather than traditional timber doors. They felt that as the doors are fitted to the inside of the frame, the corner braces are still visible when closed, as opposed to being hidden with oak doors which would be fitted towards the outside of the frame.
A SINGLE ACCESS DOOR WAS ADDED TO THE SIDE ELEVATION. THE FRAME WILL SOON WEATHER DOWN TO A SILVER GREY, ALLOWING IT TO SEAMLESSLY BLEND INTO ITS BEAUTIFUL WOODLAND SURROUNDINGS.
